STOP USING Ai...

Until you've read this guide!! 👇

This is everything I need to know before I can price your website properly. It takes about fifteen minutes and there are no wrong answers. If you do not know something yet, write “not sure” and we will work it out together.

The more detail you give me here, the more accurate the quote, and the fewer surprises later for both of us.

1

You and your business

So I know who I am talking to and what the site is for.

Anything already live, even if you hate it.

Describe one real person if that is easier than describing a group.

2

What the site needs to do

This is the part that shapes the price more than anything else.

What is the main job of the site?

Someone lands on your site. What happens next, and what do you hand over at the end? This is the single most useful answer on the form.

A rough list is fine. For example: home, about, how it works, pricing, contact.

3

Taking money

A shop and an enquiry form are very different builds, so this question matters.

How do you want to get paid?

A few extra questions, since you want to take payment on the site

List your packages or products with prices if you have them.

For example length, format, delivery speed, or licence type.

Names, dates, the story behind the order, file uploads, reference links, anything you cannot start the work without.

Download, emailed file, streaming link, posted item, delivered in person.

Stripe, PayPal, GoCardless, a card machine, or none yet.

Useful if they need to return to past orders or downloads. Not needed if email is enough.

If so, how many, and how do they ask for them?

4

Features and functionality

Tick anything you know you need. Leave the rest.

What does the site need to include?

Mailchimp, a CRM, accounting software, a booking system, a calendar.

5

Content and look

Content is the usual reason projects stall, so it is worth being honest here.

Who is writing the words for the site?

What have you got already?

They do not have to be in your industry.

Three or four words is plenty.

6

Practical details

Timing, budget and what happens after launch.

If there is a reason behind the date, tell me what it is.
What budget range are you working to?

Who looks after the site once it is live?

Nothing is sent until you press one of these. “Open in my email app” starts a new email with your answers in it. If that does not work on your device, use “Copy my answers” and paste them into an email instead.
